Application Of UL 142 Double Wall Tanks

At Fuel Gard, we offer a range of UL 142 Double Wall Tanks, spanning in capacity from three hundred gallons to twenty thousand gallons. Our double-wall tanks offer an extra layer of protection to prevent damage caused by over-filling or leaking contents. At Fuel Gard, all of our Above Ground UL 142 Double Wall Tanks are manufactured to meet AST standards providing a secondary containment offered in 110%, 125%, and 150% with optional fuel gauging and leak detection systems to help you to manage your system more accurately.

Build Quality

Our ASME-certified welders carry out all welding in accordance with ASME standards, providing high-quality results on every tank we produce. All seams are gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) TIG welded for 100% penetration to prevent welding failure down the line and ensuring a more durable and robust build. Our UL 142 Double Wall Tanks are offered in maintenance-free 304/316 stainless steel.

Coatings and Finishing’s

Typically, above ground storage tanks are stored outdoors, where they are exposed to all sorts of different weather conditions. To ensure that your tank is protected against weather exposure, at Fuel Gard, we prepare all the weather-exposed tanks in accordance with SSPC SP-1 and NACE1 Standards. To ensure maximum coating adhesives, we verify the anchor profile with Testex Press-O-Film tape.

To keep you AST protected against corrosion, we use Sherman Williams, a high-performance industrial-quality marine coating to ensure the integrity of the tank. Ferrous surfaces are coated using a two-component polyamide-epoxy mastic applied to a dry film thickness (DFT) of 5 to 7 mils. The topcoat is a two-component acrylic aliphatic urethane applied to 2 to 3 mils DFT.

Labeling and Custom Finish Options

OSHA and NFPA requirements stipulate that UL 142 Double Wall Tanks tanks must be labeled correctly. These requirements have been put in place to reduce the risk of injury to personnel in the workplace and also to minimize the risk of fire and other risks in your business premises. All of our Above Ground UL 142 Double Wall Tanks are labeled in accordance with these regulations to ensure you are fully compliant. UL 142 Double Wall Tanks can also include custom colors and/or labels if required.
